Ever since first learning about NEEDTOBREATHE back in college, they have been my favorite band in all the land. Their music is incredible, they put on fantastic shows, and they aren't afraid to be real. And ever since I fell in love with them back in my sophomore year of college, I have been (not so) patiently waiting for two things.
Honestly, my favorite part of any of their shows is their closing moment. When they come back out to take the stage, get as close to the crowd as they possibly can, and do an acoustic number. I remember them doing it back at the first show I saw and standing on top of chairs to get a better view. For me, it's literally the best moment of the night. Except when I realize that it also means the show is over and I have to wait again to see them.
An acoustic album from NTB is my dream. But, they just released their first live album, recorded at The Woods at Fontanel in Nashville. And now I have 100 minutes of live NEEDTOBREATHE to listen to. And it is magical. A mixture of old and new songs, with some dialogue thrown in about how the band hit a wall there for a little bit. They weren't sure what was going to happen or if anything was going to happen.
Well, I'm sure glad it did. I'm glad those rivers appeared in the wasteland and I'm glad this new live album is out. Tears of happiness I tell ya.
I can only imagine what my emotions are going to be when/if an acoustic album comes out.
