Whoa, guys. Can we just talk about how busy life has been lately! I have missed writing for you guys and reading y'all's blogs. And I'm doing my best to catch up!
So, I've started my new job at the coffee shop. And whew, I had forgotten how tiring a full-time job can be. I literally go to work at 7 AM and come home at 5:30 PM. I then eat dinner, play (not very energetically) with Henry, fall asleep on the couch, and then decided to move to my bed for the rest of the night. Notice that no where in there was open up my computer and catch up on blogs or write some blogs, read a few chapters of a book, watch a movie, or workout. I've never been a part of a new business, and not that I'm an owner or anything, but I'm one of a few employees. Besides my boss, I've had the most training and have logged the most hours. I've organized the inventory, trained our other employees, set up our Facebook page, all while learning the art of making coffee. Y'all, I am just plain tired! It takes a lot to start something new, but I have enjoyed being a part of it. And, if nothing else, being a part of this new place has made my appreciation of small businesses grow!
And here are some personal prayer requests for me. Pray that I will have energy to keep up with work and that I will have a great attitude throughout work. Pray that I will find a time for my quiet time. I have desperately missed it over the past week. I recently was going to start studying the book of Hebrews, but I've only done part of chapter 1. Womp. Womp. I think this week I'm going to try getting up early and doing my quiet time before work. However, I love my sleep, so this is going to be quite a challenge. Pray that I will find time to treat my body right with healthy eating and exercise. It is so easy to eat ALL the wrong things when we are busy working and this was definitely a challenge for me last week. I also haven't worked out in quite awhile. Pray that this week I will be able to find a way to successfully balance my diet, exercise, and full time job. This is definitely something new to me.
Amy suggested that I take some pictures for you guys! So, I have snapped a couple. They aren't the best, but they give you a little glimpse of the coffee shop. Business has been really good. We are even beginning to have some regulars! Our busiest time is after school when the high-schoolers get out. This week we are expecting it to be busy with lots of action at the courthouse this week and our grand opening is this Tuesday! Please keep praying for us and all the people who enter in the coffee shop! Pray that we will have ALL the energy that we need to be a bright light and encouragement for our customers.
Also, this is a TOTAL different subject, but I was watching 7th Heaven while writing this post, so here it goes. Did anyone watch 7th Heaven?? Was anyone else upset that Martin and Ruthie never got together?? They were the two people I wanted to be a couple the most. And of course, it never worked out. It just makes me so sad. I LOVE Martin. So, if anyone knows of a "Martin" anywhere, send him my way please. I promise to invite you to the wedding.
You. Are. Welcome.
