{via here} As you read this, I'm on my way to Tuscaloosa. My beloved college town that I called home for 5 years. It's been over a year since I have been back and I cannot wait! I seriously met some of my greatest friends while in college, a couple of them my last year there. Whether I met them at school or during the summer doing missions, they are some of the people that I have kept in contact with regularly. It's now getting to the time where we are all over the place. Some of them are still in Alabama, one is moving to Texas, one has been in Colorado for the past few years, one is traveling the world, 11 countries in 11 months, spreading the Gospel, and a few are married, some with kids. But, no matter where we are or where we go, these are the people that I turn to when I need advice, encouragement, prayer, or just to talk. They always answer. They are the friends that I want to be intentional with and the ones who have been intentional with me. Weekends like these are limited, that is what makes them important. We don't know where we are going or what paths we are going to take in life. We may not be able to talk with each other all the time or even see each other that often. This is why this weekend is important and much needed. Enjoy your weekend and make it a memory! Don't forget to check outthis post on a new series I'm starting next week. Inspired by Paul Angone and his article, 11 Questions Every Twenty Something Needs To Ask. Follow Me :)

a random list of things I'm loving right now in no particular order
what are the things you are loving right now? Follow Me :) As a twenty-something, I continuously struggle with the questions and plans of the future. What will be my career? Where will I live? When/who will I marry? Will I have kids? Do I want to be single? Do I want to travel? How am I going to pay off student loans? Do I really have to go to this wedding next week? Another baby shower invitation...my refrigerator is nothing but pink and blue. In 10 years, I will be 35. What will my life be like then? What am I going to do that will leave my mark on the world? As a twenty-something, these questions never seem to end. They come everyday from everyone. And if we are being honest, these questions are dreadful. And if we are still being honest, my answers are usually dreadful as well. Because my answers normally are something like this: I don't know. I don't know. Who knows. Maybe. Not really. Yes! I don't know. I don't want to. I'm tired of pink and blue. 10 years? 35??!! I don't know. Yesterday, I was stumbling around the blog-o-sphere and came across a site specifically for twenty-somethings. Talk about an answered prayer. This site is powered by Paul Angone (who has recently written a book). Paul's site is filled to the brim of articles all for twenty-somethings. There are tips and tricks on how to survive your 20's. Lists of what to do in your 20's before they are over. What we are saying and what we really mean. Lots of good, good stuff. Definitely go check it out! While I was looking around the site, I found an article that asked twenty-somethings 11 questions. These 11 questions are ones that make you give real answers and in doing so, they help you think about what you want to do, how to do it, and why you want to do it. The answers to these questions will be different for everyone, but after reading them yesterday, I wanted to answer them. So, of course, I thought of a new blog series! For the next 11 weeks, I'm going to answer these questions. I'm going to start from the top and answer one question a week, every Tuesday. Now, like I said earlier, the answers to these questions are going to be different for everyone. I'm not saying that my answers are going to be the best for you. But, I do hope that this series inspires you to answer the questions for yourself, if you are a twenty-something. Or, if you happen to be out of your twenties, maybe pass on some awesome advice of what you wish you had known at 20 or things you would have done differently. Want to join in? Please do! Check below for the questions and the days I will be answering. If you want to answer a question, write a post, then share you post in the comments or just answer in the comments below. 11 Questions Every Twenty-Something Needs To Ask 1. I know that just a couple of weeks ago I was posting about 5 more months until Christmas, but wow. August certainly arrived quickly and this means many things. First, football is almost here! Roll Tide. Second, fall weather is right around the corner! That is, if we are lucky enough to get a fall this year. Usually it goes straight from summer to winter. Not many seasonal changes here. Third, fun small town activities! It seems like once fall and winter come around, my town comes alive! It seems like there are festivals and relays and parades and pioneer days all the time! The town is always decorated. Fourth, holidays and (hopefully) family vacations!! Halloween, Thanksgiving, and then Christmas down the road! Not too mention, my family has many birthdays (including my own) in the fall/winter. AND I get to see family that I don't get to see very often. Also, my parents and I are in the process of planning a family vacation, just the three of us. I don't want to say where we are going yet, but I am VERY excited! We want to go somewhere none of us have been before and the place we are talking about the most is in my Top 5 of places I want to visit. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will happen! :) Fifth, warm clothes and scarves. I'm in love with scarves. I absolutely love them! I'm also hoping to add a pair of cute boots to my closet this fall. What is your favorite season? What do you look forward to about the Fall? Does your town do anything fun and unique? Are you a football fanatic? Follow Me :)
Just a simple post today.
Hope this song encourages you to spend some quiet time with the Lord today! This love is so deep // It's more than I can stand I melt in your peace // It's overwhelming Follow me :) |
