There is really only so much you can do with curly hair. I often get it cut and my friends (or mom) will say, "oh, it looks the same." Unless you get a dramatic cut with curly hair, no matter what you seem to do it constantly looks the same. At least, that is what has been my story. I've had my hair pretty much one way my entire life. Really, really long. The only thing that changed was whether I straightened it that day or not. My hair also ends up in a ponytail at the end of most days as well. When I go to work it has to be in a pony. When I workout, I have to have it off my neck. I can literally count on one hand the number of times I have cut my hair short. Once right before I went to college, then another time during college and I donated 11 inches! And now. As of last Friday afternoon. I've never been one to freak out over haircuts, I either like it or I don't. And if I don't, I'll just wear it in a pony until it's time to cut it again. Yet, whenever I do cut off significant inches from my head, it always takes me a minute. No, I have never cried. I just sit there staring in the mirror, running my hands over it, channeling my inner Rapunzel. Hoping that if I start singing, it's magic powers would work wonders and put all the hair on the floor back on my head! This is how I was last Friday. As I swung around to look in the mirror and my hairdresser asked me, "Don't tell me we went too short?" I replied, "No. I've had it this short before. It just takes me a minute." Did I say I liked it? Nope. Did I say I hated it? Nope. I just sat there wondering why I let her keep cutting. Pros & Cons of Having Long Hair
Pros & Cons of Having Short Hair
That last con is a whammy! So, although I couldn't think of a lot of cons for having the shorter hair, there are pros and cons to both. Like there is with anything. There might be some days where I will hate it and wish desperately that my long hair would instantaneously come back. But, there will also be days where I absolutely love it and want to keep it short forever. That will probably not happen though. I'll just keep with my cycle of growing it out super, super long and then cutting it short once every three years. For now, I'm going to try and forget about the fact that it makes me look even younger (because I certainly didn't need help in that area!) and enjoy it. A little change never hurt anyone. And after all, it is just hair and it will grow back. :) Tips & Tricks for Curly Hair I am by no means a hair dresser or expert, these are just things that work well for me.
Have you ever done something dramatic with your hair? Do you long it long or short? Have you ever cried when you got a haircut, because of shock or you just didn't like it? Have you ever donated your hair? What are some more pros and cons in the long vs. short debate? Follow Me :)

I learned about the 52 Lists Project at the beginning of this year. Just like the creator, Moorea Seal, I am a fan of lists. I've been known to write something on my to-do list that I've already completed, just to draw that sweet line through it. So, what is the 52 Lists Project? Every week, there is a prompt with a different set of things to list. Look for my list each week!

Watching: Chicago Fire & Chicago P.D. I started watching Chicago P.D. from when it first started, but I had never really watched Chicago Fire. Well, I started watching Fire from season one and I'm now on season two and quickly catching up to what is showing now!
Eating: Yummy Banana Bread that I made recently! It definitely did not last long in my house, so that just means I'm going to have to make more! Don't worry, I shared the recipe with you here! :) Drinking: I'm totally on an iced coffee kick since it is getting warmer and hotter outside. My favorite of course is an Iced Vanilla Bean Latte! I'm a sucker for anything Vanilla Bean. Also, although the 30 day challenge of green smoothies is over, I'm hoping to keep those coming in regular consumption! Reading: I really need to finish a lot of books. How do I get over this problem of getting to the middle of a book and quitting! I just need to set aside some time every day and read. It's not that I'm not into them, I just have a hard time finishing. I would love to work through my reading list intently. Right now, I'm stuck in Redeeming Love. Honestly, I haven't gotten into it that much, but I'm going to finish it! Working On: Blog posts of course! (That's always a good and safe blogger answer!) Oh, I'm also rearranging and cleaning my Pinterest boards. Yeah... I do that every now and then! Excited About: Going to the beach this weekend!! And for a friend's wedding at the end of this month! And the fact that this blog is turning ONE next month! How is that even possible? This also means that it will soon be a year that I moved back from California. Thinking about doing some posts from my time there and all the places I got to go! Think San Francisco, Yosemite, The Great Balloon Race in Reno, and more! Dreading: Paying bills. But, who doesn't dread that? Am I right?! Wishing: For my goal weight to magically appear! But, honestly, it's not going to come if I don't put in the work! Listening To: Rend Collective's new album, The Art of Celebration and Needtobreathe's new album, Rivers in the Wasteland! Both GREAT albums that you MUST check out! Praying For: Full-time job status (still) to come soon. And my own place again. I tweeted this last week and it is certainly true. I'm ready for something new, whether it happen here or me being somewhere new.

Now, in no way is this blog going to magically turn into a food blog. I honestly don't cook that often (although I wish I did), I'm not a gourmet chef or baker (although I wish I was), and I tend to turn the kitchen into a mess whenever I do anything in there! However, lately I have been wanting to try baking and cooking more! After all, my sister got me an awesome slow cooker cook book and it needs to be used! There are some great recipes in that thing! Also, instead of just pinning away on this food board and this dessert board, I would really like to start making some of those desserts and things. So, here we are. Today I share with you a recipe! Enjoy! I would honestly LOVE to take credit for this recipe and say that I came up with it all by myself. But, as stated earlier, I'm no gourmet chef or baker. I found this recipe via Pinterest when I went in search of something to do with those ripe bananas that didn't make it into green smoothies. I LOVE banana bread for a couple of reasons. One, it is yummy! Two, it is easy to make. (Need proof of this? I made it.) Three, you can easily make it your own by adding in anything you would like. Examples are nuts or chocolate chips. Neither of which I had, but if I did, they would both be in there! I did however add one secret ingredient. But, I'm not going to tell you what it is. That is what makes it a secret after all! The recipe called for 4 ripe bananas, however I only had 3. So, my bread didn't turn out with a HUGE banana flavor, but you could still definitely taste the nanners! One tip that I did learn was to mix your wet and dry ingredients separately first and then combine them! Also, the pin that I found this recipe said something about no mixer needed? Well, I just don't have arms of steel for that, so out came the hand mixer! Maybe they just meant one of those giant, legit KitchenAid mixers that everyone seems to have? Another tip? That masher up there that we normally mash potatoes with? Works perfectly for mashing up bananas! I mixed my wet and dry ingredients (separately at first) together and then added the mashed bananas. After it was mixed consistently I poured the batter into a greased loaf pan. I baked it at 350 degrees for one hour. Some people say their oven bakes quickly and it didn't quite take an hour. However, my oven baked this perfectly at one hour! Just watch it, because you don't want it to burn! Perfectly golden and so yummy! One of my favorite things about making a loaf of bread is watching the pattern on top form! That might be weird, but it just adds a uniqueness to the loaf! This recipe makes a very moist and fluffy bread. Make sure to let it cool enough before slicing and enjoying. This is the hard part, I know! Believe me, it's definitely worth it. This bread definitely did not last long in my house, seeing as I was having it for breakfast and dessert in the evenings. The parents definitely enjoyed it as well! That just means I will have to make another loaf very soon! Last tip: want to have extra fun while making this recipe? Listen to Ellie Holcomb's album, As Sure As The Sun! P.S. My secret ingredient was HONEY. :) Have you made any fun recipes lately? Leave a link in the comments below! I would love to check them out and add to my recipe box! Follow Me :)
