I walked into my living room yesterday and my mom was unpacking lots of goodies from a basket and smelling some gorgeous flowers.
I looked at Dad and said, "Where are my flowers?"
"I didn't marry you!" he said laughing.
"Well, when you married her you also got me!"
"Yeah, y'all were sort of a package deal, weren't y'all?"
Today is my mom and dad's 22 wedding anniversary. I was only three, but I was greatly attached to my new dad. It's pretty safe to say that I'm more attached to him now!
I was three when they got married and that day I got not only a new dad, but two new sisters. My sisters are some of my greatest friends and I love the relationships that we have, no matter how rocky they may be sometimes. They are both strong and beautiful and I greatly admire them.
Today we may focus the most on mom and dad, but we all celebrate together, because today 22 years ago, we all became a family.
And it will always be a special day in my life.
I learned about the 52 Lists Project at the beginning of this year. Just like the creator, Moorea Seal, I am a fan of lists. I've been known to write something on my to-do list that I've already completed, just to draw that sweet line through it. So, what is the 52 Lists Project? Every week, there is a prompt with a different set of things to list. Look for my list each week!
